SENCHA | Japan | Green Tea
SENCHA literally translates to “decocted or extracted tea,” since the leaves are steeped in hot water, unlike matcha, where the leaves are first ground & then mixed with the water.
It is the most popular kind of tea in Japan & the tea that a guest is most likely to be served when visiting a Japanese home.
The tea equivalent of a premium, aged whiskey, it is renowned all over the world for its quality. A forceful, highly potent taste, packed full of the unmistakable Japanese tanginess, this blend is for the long-time green tea connoisseur.

BREWING RECOMMENDATIONS:
- If you like your tea brewed stronger or weaker, adjust the amount of tea leaves.
- Brewing your tea too long can extract an undesirable bitterness from the leaves
- Loose leaf tea can typically be steeped multiple times. However, each steeping will yield a slightly lighter flavor than the previous.
- To brew in a large teapot, increase the amount of loose leaf tea to match the total cups of water you’re using.
