JADE RINGS | Handcrafted | Green Tea | Wholesale
Not only a wonderful drink but an elegant work of art as well.
Also known as Daughter’s Rings, this is a rare hand crafted tea from Yunnan, China that epitomizes true artisan tea. It is hand made using elaborate processes that involve great care and skill to produce this especially beautiful and delicate tasting green tea.
The process of producing Jade Rings is very different with the other green teas. Picking only the first and second leaf of new shoots during the first two weeks of spring, the leaves are allowed to wither, slightly steamed, then hand-rolled lengthwise. Following the rolling, the best leaves are selected and curled around a bamboo stick, pressed flat, and then dried in a special oven to lock in the flavor and preserve the unique shape.
With a clean, sweet and ever so slight nutty taste, this exquisite green tea is smooth and elegant to the palate.
It is best brewed in a glass vessel to watch and appreciate the skill, time and effort that goes into producing this variety.
Duration: 1-2 minutes.
Temperature: 80C°- 85C° No thermometer? Bring water to a boil, then cool for 2 minutes.
Amount: 4 rings per cup
Re-steep: 3-4 times
- If you like your tea brewed stronger or weaker, adjust the amount of tea leaves than what the brewing directions call for. Brewing your tea too long can extract an undesirable bitterness from the leaves
- Loose leaf tea can typically be steeped multiple times. However, each steeping will yield a slightly lighter flavor than the previous.
- To brew in a large teapot, increase the amount of loose leaf tea to match the total cups of water you’re using.
